DWA Live Mixed Immersive Projection Mapping
Immersive Live Visual Performance and Projection Mapped Site Specific Installation
LARGE SCALE IMMERSIVE LIVE VISUAL (VJ) PERFORMANCE
Dargaville Wearable Arts (DWA) 2019 was a fashion and live performance event in the Kaipara township. AwhiWorld partnered with the festival to create a live immersive visual performance experience inside Dargaville’s large municipal public hall. Outside, we mapped a huge animated projection onto the side of the building.
Kim Newall’s hand-painted and personally animated projections took the audience on a journey from NZ’s bush to an alternate universe of strange and surreal images. Each session of DWA was live mixed, and therefore unique for the three sets of audience who attended.
The visuals were designed to support the beautiful costume entries from the local community and the fabulous live performances of Circus Kumarani.
