PROJECTION MAPPING BASED INSTALLATION WORKSHOPS: KAIPARA DISTRICT (PONO LODGE DARGAVILLE |KAURI MUSEUM MATAKOHE)

AwhiWorld facilitated three learning events/installation creation workshops at a former Freemason’s Lodge ‘ Pono Lodge’ in Dargaville and The Kauri Museum in Matakohe (Feb/March 2020)

” I had a blast learning about digital technologies. . . it opened my mind towards learning more about that field.. . . it provided a creative learning space which I felt safe in.”

The workshops introduced youth and local artists to projection mapping basics and content creation – specifically mobile-based stop motion animation generation. Each workshop resulted in a number of site-specific installations. Part regional capacity building, part site-specific support, the workshops were designed to build skills but showcase and enliven the locations.

These workshops were part of a series of NYSAF creative technology workshops in Northland initiated by Creative Northland in partnership with NorthTec Applied Arts. They were kindly funded by the Northland Youth Arts and Capability Fund (a joint initiative by Creative New Zealand and the Ministry of Youth Development).
