Interview with Shamsher Virk – Leonardo Organisation

Shamsher Virk is the Senior Director for Programs & Operations at Leonardo: The International Society for Arts, Sciences, and Technology.

He has worked internationally on six continents in as many languages, entering new communities with a sustained commitment to inclusive process, responsive adaptation, and shared leadership. He amplifies the impact of mission-driven organisations with strategic leadership, community engagement, communications, program development, and design.

Shamsher is a United World College graduate and holds a BA in human ecology from the College of the Atlantic with an emphasis on social research methodology and interdisciplinary communication arts.

He has been a fellow with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Emerging Arts Professionals. His creative work includes video production for CounterPulse, sound design for Joanna Haigood’s Zaccho Dance Theatre, and an independent performance ethnography of migrant labourers on a U.S. dairy farm.
