ARG: Sharyne Lewis
Sharyne Lewis, (bailartheskies) is a multidisciplinary artist exhibiting and performing since 1998. Lewis’s art practice is strongly influenced by her passion for dance, choreographic practice and drawing. Her work explores themes through a conceptual and allegorical lens, delving deeply to merge her two practices in fine arts and performing arts. She lives in Northland, New Zealand and is part of the Awhi Incubator Project.
In the first of two videos, Sharyne presents her ongoing research on dance notation, visual art and the development of a three part choreographic score. In the second video, Sharyne performs the three part choreographic score against a backdrop of spoken word.
