Dr Maggie Buxton conceived and curated Alternative Reality Gardening. She is a transdisciplinary practitioner with an extensive track record in developing people and places using leading-edge practices and technologies.
For thirty years she has expanded possibilities, built systemic connections and supported resilience in groups, organisations, communities and regions. This has included work with eco-village communities in West Africa, Latin America and North East Scotland; social enterprises in the UK; experimental designers and artists in Brussels; climate change initiatives in Beijing and Singapore, and large political institutions and corporates across Europe.
Maggie strongly supports cross-disciplinary practice in NZ. She has taught in degree programmes and regularly speaks on this topic at events and conferences. She also co-founded and currently leads the Creative Technology Northland network.
